Did they find that mass in a chest xray? Any other symptoms?

I think I'd get a second opinion. We only get 1 chance at living...what do you have to lose?

I also discovered I have a pericardial cyst earlier this year. symptoms of ONLY chest pain at times so unbearable (expected an alien to jump out at any minute!) ran several blood tests (found white blood cell count is high and fluctuates from high to above average without explaination) doc decided to scare me into going to the ER by saying she thought I had a blood clot in my lungs (sharp pains in chest when taking deep breaths causing me to breathe shallow) chest xray showed nothing, CTscan showed lungs clear and I was cleared from ER and told not to worry. after a month of pain meds several more blood tests my doc was at a loss and wanted to refer me to a specialist. I requested a consult visit with her and requested I be given copies of all my records/test results. only then does she actually read my entire CTscan result which said "lungs were clear but a 1.9cm fluid density collection may reflect a periciardial cyst" AFTER A OVER MONTH of not knowing anything conclusive here was a document of results dated a month earlier that told us something my doctor seemed suprised to see and I was never told about! I had an MRI which confirmed the sixe the same 2 months later during which time I remained on pain meds. So far the 2 cardiologists I've seen and the surgeon I've consulted-they all insist that all record of these cysts do not have symptoms of pain and say there must be something else causing my pain! I don't know if surgery is any better than leaving it there, but recommend to everyone to find a doctor that is not just reading up on it for the first time, (my doc and 1 cardiologist did this in front of me!) basing there diagnosis on what they read. Hopefully there is a specialist available to us all that has dealt with these before and know more about them. For those that have cyst quite larger than a few cm I must admit I feel if mine that size I would consider surgery as the more likely solution but would still want the least invasive as possible.

My cyst is 5 X 6 cm and it has not grown in three years. What size is your cyst?
