Hi, I have on my stomach above the scar from laparoscopic assisted surgery for diverticulosis numb patch palm size. Does anyone know why it happens?
Call me stupid, because I had appointment with my surgeon yesterday -everything is OK thanks God - I asked about the patch, but his phone rang and after we started talking about something else and I completely forgot to bring it up again. It doesn’t bother me; I just would like to know why it happened –nerve damage??? – and if it goes away. Thanks!!!

It sounds like its probably nerve damage. As for if it will go away I don't think damaged nerves ever repair themselves nor can they be repaired by other means such as surgery. Good thing though that you don't get any pain from it. I've seen other people with nerve damage from surgery who get terrible pain. I think nerve damage is permanent but I'm not 100% sure on that.
