My absolute favorite drugstore foundation is: Sally Hansen brand liquid makeup. It goes on very smoothly, does not "flake" off, and they have realistic colors without pink or orange in them.
I have fair-medium skin coloring with yellow undertones, and I use the color called "Beach". It matches my skin coloring exactly. The only other brand that came close to matching my skin coloring was Prescriptives at more than four times the cost. The Sally Hansen is about $7.00 a bottle.
For me, every brand of "ivory" is too light for me, but then, the next color up is too dark....except for the Sally Hansen Brand...I can't rave enough about it, lol
Let me know if you try it what you think! :D

I bought some Corn Silk powder today that is made by Sally Hansen (or actually I think they just bought it out or something), I heard that it is very good. Is this the same line, the Corn Silk line? Or does it say something else? Oh and I also have that problem where the lightest shade is usually too light, but the next shade is too dark, but I have pink undertones, not yellow. I will have to look at it next time I'm at the store. Thanks.

I think you are right, Sally Hansen either bought out Corn Silk, or vice-versa...not sure which way, lol.
I don't think the products are exactly the same though. Next time you're in the store, you might want to try the Sally Hansen liquid foundation...either the sheer (in a tube) or the liquid in the bottle. The color "beach" might actually work very well for you...if you have pink undertones and want to get the "pink" out & even out your skintone. Let us know if you try it!

I adore Jane. It's one of 3 foundations that match my skin tone well. The others are really expensive. It also wears a long time.

I am so picky when it comes to foundation-LOL! I only wear MAC studio Fix-BUT if I can't get to a MAC counter or am broke, I will wear Cover Girl Aqua Smooth-it really impressed me! Max Factor Lasting Performance is also very good if you are looking for a long-wearing foundation.

:bouncing: Hey girl!
I think you should sign up at MakeupAlley.com and click on Productiville and find you a good foundation. I have acne prone skin, lately my skin is clear, but I use a combo of max factor pan stick + cover girl oil control, these I use together to get a smooth dewy look. I don't know what type of skin you are or what type of coverage you need. Have a good night.-Misty
PS, I don't use a whole lot of the two together, just the stick as a concealer and less than a forth of a dime size of the covergirl, I get compliments on my skin looking so smooth and it does have staying power, no powder needed.

Hi. I am going to try the Sally makeup. I am also fair-skinned and the ivory is too light and the next shade up is too dark. I usually use Cover Girl Continuous Wear and mix 2 shades which is a pain...and hard to touch up during the day. Thanks for sharing this info. Zuzu

I have used Max Factor's "Lasting Performance" for years. I love it!

Definitely Max Factor Panstick. I don't know what I'd do without it!

I love Oil Of Olay complete radiance compact foundation but unfortunately it is discontinued. I think it is still available through a 1-888 number. I haven't checked if they have my shade. But for seconds I have to say I LOVE Almay Kinetin skin smoothing foundation.

I wasn't able to post on this thread before, because I didn't have a decent foundation to add to the list. But that's changed; finally found the perfect foundation for my skin. L'Oreal AirWear in ivory. I have some dark marks from acne, along with mild breakouts on occasion (I'm on Alesse & Differin, so breakouts are much less frequent than they used to be). This foundation covers well, I'd say medium coverage, but maybe that's just because I only use a tiny bit. It is also oil free and has an SPF of 14. I usually hate foundation because it would almost always look fake on me, but this stuff makes my skin look naturally clear and takes away the red (I have sensitive, dry skin). It looks like I'm wearing no makeup at all, even in bright sunlight.
Now I'm just hoping they don't discontinue this formula like they seem to do with all of their good foundations!

I wear MAC but sometimes good old Cover girl does the trick. only downside it tends look too thick at times, never did when I was a teenager but the older I get it can look cakey but I still use it when I have to because it does have good coverage and I always loved the smell. Also Cover girl powder is good for a nice mat finish.

Thank you everyone for all of these suggestions! I still have not decided completely on which new one to try. But I will let everyone know when I do try something, thanks again! :)

Sorry to burst your bubble so soon but I just got back from a major supermarket and wanted to pick up this foundation. There were only a few left, why?, because it was a discontinued clearance item at 77 percent off. The colors left weren't even what I use !

I checked the L'Oreal website and they still had the AirWear line. Wal-Mart had it well in stock... But, i noticed your location was New York so maybe it just hasn't hit me here in California yet.

 Hey surrealmeal, on the L'Oreal site they also have the Translucide line still listed on there, but that foundation has definitely been discontinued (I used to love it!).. so I don't think the website is much help.. hehe. I, too, heard that AirWear is being discontinued as well, and I really want to try it, but now I'm afraid I'll like it and then not be able to buy it anymore, haha. :)

I LOVE Almay with Kinetin. Goes on smooth and lasts. I used to use Mary Kay foundation, which I loved, but I got tired of having to order it and it was more expensive.
