Hello all, I was searching the net and came across this message board and thought I would give it a try. Basically I was wondering if anyone else on here has come across something like this and if they have, I was wondering if they have any information as to what might be wrong with me. I haven't gone to the doctor to get any diagnosis for this yet but it's been getting worse lately and before I go, I thought I would check to see if anyone that uses this board has any ideas.

I have noticed that I get an acidy taste in my mouth or chest whenever I don't eat for a while. It seems like Gaviscon or any other antacids help alot but it keeps reaccuring. I have changed my diet and things like that and I live a very healthy lifestyle (in the gym 4 to 5 times a week, ect) but really am not sure what is causing this. Also, I know that when I get up in the morning and spit into the sink, the flem or saliva sometimes has some blood in it, especially if I really get the flem up. I also know that after I run or workout really hard, I get the acidy taste and the flem is also sometimes bloody. Kinda worrying me alot.

Has anyone come across anything like this? Basically I am going to the doctors after the holidays but in the time being, was thinking maybe someone could offer me some advice on this board. I am also a recent non-smoker (about 2 months now) and not sure if that has anything to do with it. I never really smoked alot, occasionally but I noticed it after that.

Thanks ......

Could be acid reflux, and an inflamed esophagus. The blood could be from the esophagus being irritated.Theres also a conditon called barretts which can cause bleeding. Please get it checked as soon as you can.Good luck.

Yeah thanks for the information. I was just really curious if anyone else had or has experienced something like this. I read somewhere on another board, I think about GERD that drinking more water every day helps and it did. Thank you for the help, doctor's appointment is next week.
