I just started taking nexium at bedtime for my reflux about two weeks ago. In that period I have awaken with swelling in my upper and lower lips three times. My doc thinks it is some type of allergic reaction. He is not sure what. I have not had anything to eat that different from my regular diet. Has anyone experienced this type of reaction to Nexium? Needless to say I have stopped taking it.

Although I didn't having the lip swelling, I could not tolerate Nexium at all. I experienced major stomach and intestinal problems. It was like taking an enema. I stopped it within a week and felt much better afterwards. I'm curious if your doc prescribed something else? Mine gave me Aciphex instead. That seems a little more tolerable, but I'm still not feeling the way I think I should be.

All docs must think alike. Mine also gave me aciphex but told me if that did not work I could try Prilosic. So far so good.
