Yes i need that too. I ve seen some pics on the net where yopu can easily see from outside that there is a problem with them. Is yours like that? Can you see it from outside or do you only feel it when you touch it. I think i started to imagine things and the left part of my neck hurt the whole day.

i am not sure whether my lymph node is swelling, but it is on my neck, it is red, not a very big bump... painful when touched... i am thinking whether i got hiv symptons... but i did protected sex... i have been worrying for around 6 weeks already... very tired man.... feeling like just dying..and forget it all

please stop all this! there is nothing you can do right now untill enough time has passed. stop living like you are dying of AIDS. i suggest going to the doctor and discussing this obsessive behavior along with your anxiety. this IS an obsession you are creating. i said in a different post to you that your mind will make every little thing seem HUGE. the node on your neck is probably swollen because you keep touching it. i did the same thing you are doing now. i got tested along with getting on some anti-anxiety medication. it changed my life for the better. you are seriously going to make yourself sick. this is a broken record in your head and you need help to make it stop. get the help.

but i really dont understand how by pressing against the lymph node, it will get swollen?? what's the logic? i tried my best to get past these, but new symptons just keep coming out, i forgot about it completely at times, but the symptons come again and again, what if it is really a positive result? i am only 21 and don't wish to die because of a stupid one time mistake. haiz...

it will absolutley get swollen by continious touching. the logic is that you are causing trauma to it. go back to when you were a kid, you had bumps and pains and bruises and sniffles and stomach aches and rashes and wierd things all the time.....did you ever think it was HIV related then? but given all the symptoms you could say yes right?........my point is that every person, a virgin or not has bumps, pains, sniffles, rashes, bruises...blah blah blah... all the time (maybe not all at once) but they/we do. what you are not looking at is your mental state. you are developing in my opinion an obsession about this and it can be helped. i was put on xanax and i can finally relax. do you realize that even after i tested negative that i still didn't believe it? sad but true.

The problem with the symptoms is they are so general and can be anything but i constantly keep thinking about the worst scenerio.
Another problem is that its winter and its very easy to get a flu like sickness.

The thing that surprises me is that HIV doesnt cause any discomforts on the genitals. AM i right?

yes you are right. and if you look at what you just wrote "the symptoms are so general" you answered your own question. you are mentally causing a lot of this, you are going to be ok, just take control of your life, whatever that might be.

Read this:

Normal nodes are usually less than ½ inch across (size of pea or baked bean).


Nodes with a viral infection are usually ½ to 1 inch across.


Nodes with a bacterial infection are usually longer than 1 inch across (size of a quarter).


1. Reassurance for Normal Nodes: If you have discovered a pea-sized or bean-sized node (smaller than ½ inch), this is a normal lymph node. Don't look for lymph nodes, because you can always find some (especially in the neck and groin).

See, they say you can always find some nodes if you look for them. I feel better now. I hope you ll do the same thing. I thougth that you can only find them when they are infected and fight against a virus or bacteria.

If you had protected sex then you are at very low risk!! Remember HIV is not diagnosed through symptoms, am I right? I used to think I was also infected and I worried myself into losing 15 pounds and having severe panic attacks. I got tested and it was neg but it really eased my mind. Even having you sinuses drain will cause your lymph nodes to swell. I have swollen lymph nodes all the time because I have chronic sinus infections (which by the way is yet another symptom) but I know better. I was tested once and I was happy with the results. Hope this eases your mind a little but if your anything like me it won't. Go get tested again for the 6 months because this is the only way you'll have peace.

ok if the lymph nodes are swollen, the doc told me that the two muscles on your neck will be like really swollen.. you can see the difference.. but like what nyxin said.. you can get it swollen by constantly pressing on it.. i think that makes sense.

pea sized to peanut sized it ok, i had them a kid for years. when they are swollen you know, it's very obvious, like you wouldn't have to ask obvious
