Hi I am a 22 year old male. The past four years I have suffered on and off of what most of my doctors thought was panic attacks. I have recently seen a homeopathic doctor for the past few months and she seemed to think these attacks had something to do with parasites and bacteria in my stomach. I am currently on black walnut and acidophilus and a homeopathic medicine called sulfur and on a disbiosis diet.I have not been able to work for the past 5 months because of the following symptoms.

-foggy head all day no breaks, feels like im dreaming or on dope
-fatigue, but not severe
-spots in front of eyes
-swollen lymphnodes on back of neck wich I just recently started noticing although could have been there for a while
-stabbing pains in temples more severe at night
-wheezing at night due to food allergies which I never had before

Other symptoms of panic attacks have passed. A while back I took numerous rounds of antibiotics for sinus infections and soon after developed the previous symptoms. Could this be due to Candida? And how can I be certain?Any suggestions?
Thank-you.

These symptoms could be from candida, but it is hard to tell for sure. But what you have said is very consistent with such (i.e. it happened on the heels of antibiotic use - very common).

If you do know you have food allergies though, the best thing to do would be to eliminate the common food allergens from your diet for at least one week and see how you feel (wheat, soy, corn, and dairy are the biggest allergens). That would be a great first step. If your symptoms improve, talk to your naturopath about treating the digestive system after it has apparently been damaged by your body's allergic response to certain foods.

I also think your symptoms sound like those that are produced by a yeast infection.

I have a sister that had panic attacks and when first treated by a Doctor Dennis Remmington,MD in Salt Lake City, she could only take a small pinch of Nystatin. She evenually got better but it took a year.

Everyone is different and reacts differently to yeast but you certainly have to be treated aggressively because if you don't you'll think your life is really falling apart. And, the way you feel it IS!!!

I certainly wish you well---Harry

Hi Ash,
I have had bad brainfog for 6 months. It is really hard to deal with. You would think a person would get use to it after 6 months but I still have anxiety over it. Anyway, do you ever get lightheaded feeling while moving around and are your eyes kinda whack. What I mean by whack is slow to focus or a feeling that your eyes are not sending signal to brain fast enough.

Derek,

What you are describing sounds like an ototoxic reaction to medication and not a candida symptom. Do you take any regular meds or antibiotics? They sometimes can affect the inner ear balance in the very way you are describing. The damage can also be permanant if the symptoms go on for too long, so you may wish to see about reducing, changing, or eliminating those meds altogether.

All of my symptoms started after a flu like virus that I got three times in a row in a three week period, three days after finishing a months prescription of protonix. I never used the protonix again and went a week without using any drugs to see if symptoms would go away and they did not. Later I was diagnosed with ETD and the prednisone made me more dizzy. I was then diagnosed with anxiety they gave me paxil and 4 months later I feel the same. I will say that the paxil has helped my terrible head and neck aches but it has given me some weird sensations.

I am not sure I totally follow your chain of events but the beginning part sounds uncannily like my experience with Levaquin. I got severe flu-like symptoms, then nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and after that I was dizzy, my entire balance was off-kilter, and my eyes did the "following" thing where I would look at something but my vision seemed to need a few seconds to actually catch up to where I was looking. It was horrible. Thank GOD I eventually healed from these symptoms, but it took a few weeks I remember. I even went to an ear doctor and they found nothing wrong. I am 100% convinced it was a reaction to the Levaquin.
