How long does it take to feel if a natural product is working?

That depends on what specific supplement you're talking about. For example, herbs such as St. John's Wort and Ginkgo Biloba require a few weeks of daily use before you notice the results, though it can vary from person to person. Other herbs such as Valerian or Kava will give you the effects only minutes after first taking them. Ginseng is an example of a little of both. You would probably feel something when first taking it but the effect gets better with prolonged use. BTW, don't take Kava unless you KNOW your liver is in good health. Kava is probably safe for most people if used as directed but it's shown to be dangerous for those with even the slightest liver problems. And not all liver troubles show symptoms. Just something to think about because Kava is a very popular herb and for good reasons.

I haven't been feeling well for the past year. A neurologist told me that my symptoms could be due to a virus. So I just started taking a V.R.U.S. formula. It contains: echinacea purp. root, hibiscus flower and goldenseal herb. With that I'm also taking capsules of bacterial cultures.

If you were to take a pint of prune juice for constipation you'll see results in less than an hour ;)

Not recommended, by the way ;)

You might want to ask your question at the "Vitamin and Supplement" Board.
I cannot imagine having a virus for a year, and suggest you get a 2nd opinion from another doctor, and possibly some lab work. Good Luck!

My problem has to do with constant dizziness 24/7 for the past 15 months.
No spinning (vertigo) but just borderline with sometime a feeling of unsteadiness.

I've seen many doctors and had a lot of blood work done. I had CTscan, MRI, ENG etc. All normal. I even saw a psychiatrist to rule out anxiety. The doctors have problems (espcially ENTs) because I don't have classic symptoms (vertigo). I discovered through my research and experience that doctors don't know a lot when it comes to the inner ear or treatments for dizziness.

I tried acupuncture, homeopathy, ear candling, been on a diet a few months (with an evironmental doctor) in case my condition was due to food allergies and saw a chiropractor in case it was due to a neck problem. No results.

The last doctor that I saw was a neurologist (the second). He told me that my condition was certainly due to an inner ear problem affected probably by a recurring virus (I had Labyrinthitis about 11 years ago that lasted about 10 days). He said that sometimes when a virus comes back the symptoms are not as severe (maybe explaining why I didn't have the classical Labyrinthitis symptoms) and that it could last a very long time, to be patient and that it would eventually go away. He's probably wrong, but at least it's giving me a little bit of hope.

Explaining my reason for trying the V.R.U.S. formula.

I would go along with the second neurologist....it makes sense. However I am not familiar with what you are taking. I would make a guess that most anything would work within 3 months, max.
