View Full Version : When am I not contagious -- flu?

OK I am completing my fourth full day of flu-dum tonight.

On Sat night I felt fine but started with the chest cough. On Sunday a bad cough but no fever. Monday and Tuesday were the whole works (101+ fever and felt like you-know what). I feel better today but still mild symptoms. I WANT to be non-contagious tomorrow as I will be visiting 7 relatives, 2 of whom did get the flu vaccine.

Also, miraculously, my husband and 2 children did not catch it -- yet. Of course I have isolated myself from them as much as possible since waking up Sunday with the cough.

What do you think -- will I be safe by Christmas? And do you think I need to worry for my kids -- they were not vaccinated as they have no health problems, are aged 5 and 7. I am searching other sites for info on this but figured I'd pop the question here too. Thanks.

when you have a fever (even low grade) you are contagious. If you feel o.k. for 24 hours, and you have no fever, you should be good to go.
