I have noticed that in the past week my pain isn't so intense
(I have nerve damage from having my gallbladder removedl)
I had my gallbladder surgery 13 months ago and i have
been in chronic intense pain ever since. but i have noticed
that within this past week my pain has gone done a little,
and that the "ultram" that i am taking for the pain has been
helping alot more with the pain, before it only took away some
of the pain, but in the past week there are times when i feel
no pain.
could it be that my nerves are finally starting to heal???
the doctors can't seem to tell me anything about my
nerve pain, they cant tell me if i will have to live like this
in pain for the rest of my life, etc..
someone told me on here before that nerves heal a millimeter
a week, well i was in pretty rough shape 13 months ago
so maybe that since my nerves were so badly damaged
that it's just taking longer for them to heal.
(Oh last year on christmas eve i spent all day, about 6 hours
in the emergency room because my pain was so bad that no
amount of pain med's would even touch the pain so i ended up
getting an iv with demoral and phenegran put in)
I am still in pain tho everyday but the pain isnt so bad
that i would want to die (like how i felt for many months)
does anyone here know a little about nerve damage and if they
do eventually heal?
I'm finally getting to see the light at the end of the tunnel
and believe now that there is hope for me yet! Kim

Kim, I have heard that it can take up to 2 years for nerves to heal. Hope that is what is going on with you and that you will continue to improve.

Hey Kim that is great news. I don't know much about nerves just wanted to chime in to let you know I'm glad your pain is getting better. Take care and I hope your pain continues to diminish.
