My daughter went to the doctor because I couldnt get her fever down, they said she had the flu and the start of pneumonia. They told me that I could mix the tylonal and motrin I could give them at the same time I thought this was strange wouldnt that overdose them? Has anyone ever heard of being able to do this?

HI, actually, my son had the flu a couple of weeks ago and I was told to give him a dose of Childrens Advil and then an hour later a dose of Children's Tylenol. It worked and we only had to do it for a couple of days. Not sure if Motrin is ibyprofin like Advil, but I wouldn't mix them, just stagger the two. Good luck, hope your daughter gets well soon, it's not a fu way to spend Christmas!

It is fairly common practice to mix tylonol and advil/motrin, to achieve better fever reduction. You usually don't give them at the same time, but stagger them:
Tylonol
2 hrs later Motrin
2 hrs later Tylonol
2 hrs later Motrion
2 hrs later Tylonol
repeat....
This way you are taking each drug every 4 hours, but have both of them in your system.
