Hi,

I currently take 10mg Lexapro, 1mg Ativan, 150mg Wellbutrin XL, and 3mg Valium for generalized anxiety that appeared when I went into recovery for anorexia 3 years ago.

However, I'm looking to get pregnant soon and I'm wondering what to do about all of this medication? I'm definitely physically dependent upon the Ativan and Valium. My psychiatrist says that the Lexapro should be OK to take during pregnancy, but that I should wean off of the other meds. I'm fearful to be bedridden again and in horrendous anxiety without the Ativan. Does anyone have any personal insight? Which is worse for the baby - the Ativan or having debilitating anxiety?

I will also post this in the Pregnancy section.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!

IMO any antidepressant is far more risky than a benzo during pregnancy, however its now quite common to take both during pregnancy and studies show no harm to baby or mother, although the baby does seem to go thru mild withdrawl symptoms after birth

theres always the chance that no meds at all will be needed for anxiety during pregnancy, being pregnant is all thats needed to calm some anxiety sufferers, but you would probably need to stop all meds as an experiment to see what happens when pregnant

ativan and valium are both benzos and your combined dose is only quite low and you may just have a psychological addiction
