Hi, am thinking of trying one of these treatments to enhance my immune system as have had Labrinthitis (inner ear virus) for a while. Anyone had any positive effects from these therapies?

Homeopathy is great and I have experienced direct benefits from this myself. I use it all the time. I was also so fascinated by it that I went onto to study it for 3 years in college.

I don't know that much about naturopathic techniques I have to say, but both naturopathy and homeopathy can work very well together.

Good luck.

Been there, dome both numerous times over the course of a year and a bit. It hasn't done anything for me, but all results are different of course.

I tried naturopathy (where the body is encouraged to heal itself) for nearly 20 years. I was successful in curing myself (or nearly so) of fibromyalgia symptoms. It's rare for a person to do this, as I had done. I went outside our highly advanced medical system of drugs and surgery and entered into the world of natural care.

I changed my diet to a healthy one and slowly introduced myself to herbs (that was about 1984). In the early parts of my sickness I tried to exercise. Years later, I linked my illness to my mercury-silver dental amalgams - so I had them replaced with less toxic ones that don't contain mercury. Later with a self-prescribed detox program with my herbs and eventually cilantro, I've reduced this substantially.

I've been feeling so well, that I stopped taking my herbs for about six months or so. I just started taking the herbs again last week, and I got some of my rash back (three little red spots). This rash was the only physical thing that I could see or show someone that something was wrong. With fibromyalgia or its symptoms, how do you show pain? Unfortunately, a lot of doctors don't understand something they can't see or determine with their diagnostic equipment.

Which doctors understand mercury poisoning from dental amalgams? Which doctors really understand these mysterious fibromyalgia pains that I had and others have? Since all these doctors could do for me is make me worse or do nothing for me, I took this route of natural healing. It was an effort that spanned nearly two decades.

I think herbal therapy is fascinating. As much as I know about herbs, I think that I've only scratched the surface. I think people could spend a lifetime trying to understand their healing properties.

When I was in the middle of my sickness, I would spend hours looking at my herbal books. As a result, if someone has an ailment, without looking it up, I can often find the herbs that would help. Herbs work very well, if you know which ones to take, how to prepare them, and how to preserve them etc. It's a science all in itself.... http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/gabby.gif

Emsybobs,

Now for your virus, if you were to follow natural healing with herbs, I would suggest that you also change to a healthy diet. A good diet and herbs worked well together. One nice healing herb for viruses is raw garlic. I've knocked them out so many times, but there is the problem with the garlic odor. I've reduced this by consuming dried fruit such as dried apricots or raisins the next day (just before it's time to go to work etc.).

I would mix my raw garlic (no more than two cloves chopped up really fine) in some other food as a spice. Taking raw garlic by itself can sting quite a bit. I know, 'cause I've tried it. Ouch, it can hurt. :)

Hi,
I have tried both. Homeopathy worked really well for me as I had chronic urinary tract infections. The homeopath is also a naturopath and she recommended changes to make to my diet to enhance my quality of life and to get me feeling better.
It worked for me and I learnt a lot about healthy eating.
Give it a try!

I saw a naturopath two years ago and presented her with my case of Multiple Sclerosis.

She gave me some protocols to adopt (which of course I was extremely scpetical of) and 12 months later my MS has reversed and I'm symptom free. I know this sounds like a crazy story and don't think I didn't think the same as you are now.

The protocol was to rid a fungal infection, clean out my liver with silymarin, remove some metals with sodium selenite, boost antioxidant protection with high dosages of vitamin C, increase omega-3 fatty acid intake, support fat metabolism with lecithin, take magnesium to address the damage done by excess calcium, alpha-lipoic acid as another antioxidant, ginseng combination of chinese herbs to support kidney function and brain nevres and a B-complex vitamin for cell support and generation.

I now only take vit-C and fish regularly.
