A friend of mine has these horrible peeling fingertips...he says he gets them about 4 mos out of the year...the other 8 mos are fine....he says as soon as it turns cold they act up. It is just the fingerpad area. They are peeling in thick skin amounts and they are very tender and some are more cracked than others. He said the other night his thumb was so sore and so cracked that it actually bled somewhat. OUCH! One Dr. told him it was contact dermatitis but how can that be if it is only during the winter. Is it a form of Eczema? Anyone know what it could be or how to treat it??? I would really like to help him....any websites would be helpful as well.
