Anyone experienced racing pounding heart and dizziness from taking l-carnitine? Also, I noticed my pointer finger on my left hand was twitching out of control all on its own.
I have only taken one 400mg tablet and am not game enough to take any more.
I seem to be recovering now. The effect lasted about 2 hours.
What would cause this?

Could be anything. Golden rule is to stop if you have adverse reactions. Last time I needed to stop I ended up in an ambulance with a one way ticket to the emergency ward.

perhaps start with a smaller dose and work up to higher dose. There has never been a reported symptom of L- carnitine. In fact in Europe, it is prescribed for cardiac arrhthmias and heart failure. Read Dr. Sinatra book L-carnitine and the heart.;)
