Hi, I was reading another thread and noticed there seem to be a lot of people on this board who have had positive experiences with homeopathy.
Does anyone know if it can treat bad osteoarthritis. My friend recently had knee surgery and has been told she has OA and a total knee replacement is inevetible at some point. She is just trying to make that point more distant. Thanks

Hi,
As you may know osteoarthritis is the deterioration of the cartledge in joints.Homeopathic medicine just is not going to do anything to replace the cartledge. It could help the pain but so can alot of other medication.

Some people have had some amazing results using two supplements --Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate including my wife. But, I have read some studies where it has been found that it doesn't work for everyone.I think It's worth a try.
God Bless---Harry

Thanks Harry, she is already taking those two meds. She is some better since the surgery but just looking for more improvement. She is thinking of getting an injection of Synvis it is susposed to make you grow new cartilage or something.

Hi bjk47, has she tried cetyl myristoleate? There is a Japanese company that has a product with cetyl myristoleate, glucosamine and methyl sulfonylmethane. It is the maximum concentration of cetyl myristoleate (30%) available. Its some pretty incredible stuff , please check it out. Good luck

I would say that homeopathy is definitely worth exploring and could certainly help.

The two most indicated remedies for osteoathritis are Rhus Tox and Bryonia. Rhus Tox is worse in the morning, but better for first getting going and is worse in cold damp weather. Bryonia is a remedy where the patient is very thirsty and is worse for the slightest movement and better for rest. You could try this and it could really help with pain control.

Also, another good constitutional remedy for both osteo and rheumatoid arthritis is Calc Carb, but I would suggest consulting a Classical Homeopath for this to find the constitutional remedy. A constitutional remedy given in a low dose could work very well.

Glucosamine is also very good, but have you also considered acupuncture as a means of helping? This can also be very good and sometimes acupuncture is better for joint problems, whereas homeopathy is not as good.

Anyway, I would try and Rhus Tox or Bryonia, however, I would urge you to consult a professional homeopath who could most definitely help you. Yes, give it a go, it is well worth it and it can work more effectively and at a deeper level than most people think.

Good luck
