on christmas eve, i had a sore throat.. it started with feeling like there was mucus in the back of my throat, and it would burn just when i tried coughing it up, then it went to burning when i took a deep breath and then full blown sore throat.. then on Xmas day.. i woke up with a 102.3 degree fever... chills.. weakness.. headache... stuffy nose... runny nose.... burning nose...

and this has been going on since xmas morning..

i have taken my temperature alot over the past 3 days.. and it has never gone back up to 102.3... the highest its been was 101.2, now its 99.4

ive been taking this non asprin fever reducer/pain medicine (ripoff brand of tylenol i think) and i just found this tylenol nighttime flu medicine and took that... needless to say it dident help me sleep cause i am up now :(

should i consult a DR or should i just get rest (i have gotten a ton of rest the past 3 days) and drink lots of fluids? (ive been drinking ginger ale... lots of it)

btw.. im turning 19 next week... so im not in the groups of people that have been dying off because of the flu :)

Well, whatever you have, it doesn't sound just like a run of the mill virus...especially considering the the extent of your fever. Supposing you do have influenza, you would have to be seen within 40 hours of your first symptoms for them to actually decide to use one of the antiviral drugs (like amantadine) on you....after the 40 hour window, the drugs are useless. If you feel you're getting better, however, then you're in the clear I guess!

well i defiently feel better then i did on christmas morning... i was in baddd shape..

i just took my temperature again.. its 100.6.. just took 2 dayquil

it was down to 99.8 last night

anything i read online say that all my temperatures have been low grade fevers... (102.x or below)

well i woke up and took my temperature... 98.5

so it seems the fever is gone... my throat is still sore, and my nose is still running, but it seems the worst is over.. :)
