I've chelated myself with great results. You don't actually need an MD. Do a search on "Andy Cutler Amalgam Illness" and you'll find a lot to get you going.

You can read up also about cilantro. One of my detox experiments is with cilantro. I've noticed great results. I had my mercury-silver dental amalgams removed about nine years ago.

Dear Emily,
Chelation can be done for different kinds of metals. Doctors belonging to the American College for the Advancement in Medicine (ACAM)are MD's that you check you for heavy metals. www.acam.org. (http://www.acam.org.)

If you have the heavy metal LEAD, you will need EDTA chelation. Mount Rogers Clinic on the internets has lots of information about EDTA chelation therapy. It is also used to take plaque out of the bloodstream. Often people do this in lieu of having bypass surgery. This is done by hooking the patient up to an IV for 3 hours. 30 treatments are done to remove plaque. Your doctor would determine how many treatments you would need to remove lead.

My doctor at the Mount Rogers Clinic is giving me the prescription drug DMSA to remove mercury. I also take many supplements that help remove mercury.

Andy Cutler has written a book and his advice is helpful. However he is not a doctor. But some doctors are not very knowledgeable also. So it is good to find help from people like Andy, online groups, research, and your doctor.

I would recommend to STAY AWAY FROM HOMOPATHTIC MEDICINE that says to use remedies that contain mercury to cure mercury toxicity. This will only make you more poisoned!!

If you are poisoned, you need a doctor to help you. Find an ACAM doctor that is EXPERIENCED in treating mercury toxicity. I would be afraid of using the drug DMPS.

I am having success using DMSA. However use it in small quantities like 50 mg and gradually build up. You can do a search online for "DMSA." Google is a good search engine.
