Well i was not going to wait 10 days for my results. I just kept calling the film room at the hospital asking if the CT report was in. It was in on Saturday. From what I can understand, the "reader" of the CT was saying that there were no masses found, but he suggested 2 other tests to "confirm that nodule is in the lung". One test is a "five degree" something, cant remember the name of the other test. Well? Where else could the nodule be if it showed up in the chest xray? or what could it be?

Hi
I can't help a whole lot, but, I can tell you they found a 5.5X7.5 cm "mass" in my chest on x-ray and cat scan and they haven't been able to confirm so far whether it is in my lung or if it is a Pericardial cyst. I will be having a bronchoscopy this week to have the lungs checked out. Hope this helps, good luck,

Chest Xrays are wonderful at pointing out the obvious. However, when the obvious is not obvious, they do CT, PET, and MRI. Some of the things on Xray that might not show up on a Ct as something important, is an air bubble. Another thing might be calcifications, Other things that might be a problem would be small blood clots, or an embolism( a bulge in a blood vessel.) A foriegn object that has had mucus surround it to protect the rest of the body from infection. Tuberculosis scarring, Scarring from Pneumonia. All of these conditions have to be checked from many angles and adequate testing in order to be a sound diagnosis.,
