hi all my 6 yr old son has come out in a rash / lesions ...let me start at the begining ...about 5 weeks ago he went swimming at his schools pool ...any way as i had forgot to send his swimmers and a towel his well meaning teacher gave him a loan of spare jocks(underwear) and a towel about 1 day later i noticed 3 or 4 red bumps on his upper thigh but as they looked like mosquito bits i wasnt worried then about a week later i noticed he had a rash on his groin and genitals ...so we go off to the dr ....She said it was and i must say i thought it was ringworm well I went out bought the cream to treat it a thrus anti fungal cream well i treated him with it till i run out 3 days later by this time the poor kids rash had spread over his sides to his under arm so back to the dr we go this time the dr says its a differant type of fungal infection so i get more medication to treat him and treat him reliogously for about 4 days when suddenly the rash /lesions around his genitals and sides under his arm are so red and itchy its driving the kid nuts ....so again we go back to the dr and she says ohhh its "sariasis" take him home and use this cortisone cream only on his upper torso only leave it on for about 10 mins then wash it off so i aske can you do a skin test of some sort instead of guessing ?She said no i got a few more things i want to try so by this time I was ready to throtel her so I went home used the cream , well through the night a fresh lot of lesions broke out on his less affected side on his upper left side so i took him to another dr who says its gotta be ring worms ...i swear these dr's are driving me to drink ..well i told this dr i wanted a skin scraping done he said ok you can do it ...i was huh your the dr thats what you get paid for you do it ...so any way he did it but till the results come back in a weeks time I still got no reason and dont think the anti thrush treatment(nilstat ) he gave me is going to do diddely squat ...I have taken pics of my son but i am not sure can i post a pic here with html ??

we went to the dr again today .. the lumps started out as what looked to me like mosquito bites ....then they sort of erupted to what looked like ring worm or sariosis ...well none of the rash looked like any of the images i could find online for either sariosis or ring worm ...however the dr we seen today and she thinks that its a thing called "PITYRIASIS ROSEA"
which fits with all the images i have sence found as well as with the discription ie fir tree or christmas tree pattern up his chest and back...with a starting point called a herald patch ...tho there isnt anything that can be done cept use steroid creams and no soap in his bath ...the dr said to expect this to last up to 6 months :(

I think I would speak with the school principal, tell them about the 'used' (so-called) swimming suit given to him by the teacher, then politely present her with all the medical bills and medicine/prescriptions. All sorts of skin disorders can be transmitted by contact with an infected piece of clothing, etc. Shame on that teacher - she should have known better!!!!
