I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right section or not, but I guess it will be moved if it isn't. Anyways, here's my problem...
Well, somehoe I have a cut on my buttcrack (I'm sure that's not the technical term, but its all I know, sorry) I think I may have cut it when shaving the area, and it has just ripped. Well, its about an inch long and it hurts like crazy. If I spread my buttcheeks even a small amount, it hurts a lot. I have been putting Neosporin on it for the past few days, and it itches LIKE CRAZY, and isn't getting any better. I am clueless...please help....any suggestions would be truely appreciated

Itching is usually a sign that it's healing....guess my only suggestion would be keep doing what your doing and clean it often (especially after a bowl movemnt) with peroxide...

I know that for hemorrhoids (not sure if I spelled that right!) and anal fissures, people use tucks medicated pads or witch hazel. Good luck!

What really sucks tho is that anytime I bend over or anything that spreads my buttcheeks will probably rip it....so Im sure this will be a LONGGG miserable healing process

Be sure to follow Dakota's advice & keep it clean after using the restroom!

Thanks a lot.....so, is it okay to scratch it?

So...it seems to have gotten worse. The cut has gotten bigger, and now there is a red rash (maybe an allergic reaction to the neosporin) Still cluless =(

I had a cut (not on my butt crack lol) I was using neosprsin and devoloped a rash and my doc said theres an ingrediant in neosporsin that some people over time may become allegric to it.. She suggested for me to use over the counter Polyporsin. I have been using it for 2 years now and have not devoloped any rashes at all.. You can find right next to the neoporsin.
Good luck

Hi There, I just wanted to say that you probably shouldn't shave there anymore due to the awful location of the cut.Bowel Movements are full of germs and
can cause severe infection to a open wound.Try cleaning it with sterile water
(boil water on the stove)if you can't buy it.Then apply some Bactine spray, cover your anus so you don't get any inside. If possible put some gause
bandage on it with non stick tape.Change it 2-3 times a day or when soiled.
Hope this helps!! Lorie

I don't want to scare you, but some of these symptoms sound like herpes. Sometimes an outbreak can be on the anus. Have you looked down there to see what it looks like? If you have, are there any blister-like bumps? Just asking, because quite frequently the first symptoms of an outbreak is severe itching. You might want to have this checked just to be sure.

One thing you might want to consider is perhaps the area is too moist? That tends to be a very warm, moist area anyway & if you're keeping the cut covered up with neosporin, it's going to trap the moisture & not allow the cut to dry & heal (think of a diaper rash, you need to allow it to dry out). Try the witch hazel (you can get it in the stores next to the rubbing alcohol).

It's not herpes, I'm only having sex with one guy, and he's clean

I get that sometimes, too. I know what you are talking about and it is not around the anus, more like back a little around the crack, right? Mine is from dry skin... If I don't dry enough after I shower, the wet can cause the skin to dry out. It is just like on your hands, or your feet, when the skin dries out it can cause cracking. It happens more easily on your bottom because the skin is so sensitive. I use Nizoral shampoo to wash my crack, it is GREAT for dry skin. Just be careful to avoid your vagina. Unless you have dandruff there! :D

Yes, it is on the crack. It started off as a small cut (possibly from shaving, I think) then it got to be about an inch long, now it is all the way up my crack. My anus is sore also tho (when I wipe).

I recommend when your cut heals that you should go to the salon and get a wax job :)
My sisters boyfriend used to shave in that area and cut him elf very badly. the cut never healed and the cut spread to his anus. so every time he would have a bowel movement it would split open again. He had to be put on stool softner untill the cut healed. Now He has to deal with going to the doc's ever year to have an exam to make sure polyops aren't forming.
So just watch it. and good luck. Hope you feel better
whitegrlyblingn 01-06-2004, 01:29 PM
what exactly are polyops?
Sidney1733 01-06-2004, 06:20 PM
what exactly are polyops?
Polyp's or another name for them is Colon Polyps are growths that develop in the colon or rectum. They can be canerous or noncancerous. the Cause of some polyps are unknown. If cancer runs in your family should have a lower scope down to check over everything to make sure the doc doesn't find any thing. Remember its always better to catch things early.
Also I wouldn't worry about your cut, Because my sisters boyfriends cut was on the outer part of his retum so it took a very long time to heal.
Yours is on the top part of crack. So just watch it and be gentle. Hopefully it will heal up real soon
Good luck
whitegrlyblingn 01-07-2004, 02:26 PM
I think it is actually getting better, it isn't itching as much, and doesn't hurt as much either. I've been putting peroxide on the cut, and hopefully it is healing
