There are more posts under weightloss than any other category under healthboards.com and that doesn't even include the obesity forum.

Weight problems are obviously something a lot of us are struggling with, the government needs to step in and do something about it.

I can't believe that public schools are cutting Physical education and health classes in times like these. There should be a major campaign to fight the obesity epidemic and help get us all to healthy weights. The insurance industry should definitely being covering more preventative measures to prevent obesity, they would save so much money in the long run if their customers lost weight.

I couldn't agree more. It is up to us parents ( although mine are almost grown now) to encourage activity rather than video games.
The weight loss industry is making millions off of people looking for a fast fix and that will never change.
I dont understand how people who took 10 years to gain 50 pounds wants to lose it in 1 month.
These diets are like roller coasters for so many. I know some have success and to those I applaud but the majority of people will gain it back if they do lose.

I cant begin to name the health problems caused by being overweight and inactive!!! :bouncing: :bouncing:

IMHO it is no ones reponsibility for another's weight gain but for the weight gainer. It is rediculous that people who are over weight blame Mc.Donalds or frito-lay for their weight problem...tisk, tisk, as they grab the cheetos off the shelf! Hello???? I'm a bit over weight because I MADE POOR CHOICES!!!!

It's like the drug campaign.....Just say NO!! Let's not waste 1.2 million on a Just say NO to burgers campaign.

Many companies are out there trying to teach the overweight to Make proper choices, and learn portion control, and don't give into temptation. If anyone is going to sink mega $$$ into a "loose 25lbs in 2 days!!!" program, then yet again, they haven't learned about HEALTHY choices.

Just my 2 cents.
