I am looking for people who have tried weight watchers and can explain how it worked for them positive or negative.
This plan seems to be the smartest You do not eliminate any foods you shoot for balance.
Please give me all of the feedback you have.
WHat is the upfront cost??Is it reasonable for most people?
Thanks

I lost 30 on weight watchers and have kept it off easily. I still want to lose another 30 so I am recommitting myself to keeping a journal again and working on it.
Right now through January is free registration, which is usually $15. Then it is $9.95 a month or if you buy the ten weeks of passes it is $8.95. If the money thing is a real issue, you might be able to volunteer for them and then the meetings are free.
It is actually very easy to do. The most important part is the journaling. The whoe point of the program is to learn proper eating habits and you can not do that without journaling.
Good luck and let us know how it goes for you.

HI I just started WW on Saturday. The registration was free. Then you can pay weekly or buy special packages. If you are a student you pay 9.00 wkly and if you are not you pay around 11.00 wkly for weekly meetings and weigh-ins. Based on your weight you get certain points a day. You eat food till all the points are up but you have to balance your points throughout the day. PLus you get 35 additional points for the week and if you want to lose more weight then you don't use the 35. THE extra points are for unexpected bad days, family reunions, or just when you need them. Then the more you lose weight, then the less points a day. I hope you find this info helpful.

The secret to weight watchers is VEGETABLES. Buy a juicer...you will be surprised how good a mix of juiced veggies and fruit can taste with LOW calories. :)

Weight Watchers is simply the best diet plan there is...period!! No gimmicks. It is just PORTION CONTROL. You eat a variety of healthy foods, in healthy quantities.
Seveal years ago I lost over 40 pounds on that diet. I actually ate BETTER on the diet than off of it. I ate a better variety of foods, tastier foods and healthier foods.
I would recommend Weight Watchers to anyone. Still, you will need to be committed.

How well did the support from the meetings help??
Group support usually works well, regardless of what the circumstances. I found their meetings to be informative. Listening to the other people in the group also makes you realize that you're "not doing this alone."
You need to STAY for the meetings for them to be helpful tho. I lot of folks just go and get weighed and then leave, skipping the meeting. That's allowed, but not encouraged.
Like I said in my first post, I can't rave enough about Weight Watchers. It's not a "fad" diet. It's portion control. There isn't a doctor anywhere who would discourage their patients from this diet.
Also like I said earlier, you do need to be committed....this isn't a "miracle cure." It will work if you follow the progam.....but you are going to have to follow it.

I plan to join next week I think for me it is accountability. The weekly weigh ins.
I have gained about 10 pounds with two back surgeries this year.
I will keep everyone posted on the outcome.
Thanks

You should do well, because that's EXACTLY what happens at WW. You become accountable. You know that you have to go "face the scale" each week. You're given the "tools" to make it happen and the motivation.
Good luck and know that a WW diet is one that you can follow for life!!

I love weight watchers because it has taught me how to eat. When i get to were I want to be I will know how to maintain my weight. It doesnt deprive me of the things i love. I have lost almost 45 pounds on weight watchers and feel so good about myself. I'm not gonna lie though, its been hard, very hard, but honestly anything is going to be hard. I paid 35 dollars up front and now just pay 10 dollars a week. I really think its worth it if you have patience and you want it bad enough. You can do it!!!

Weight Watchers really just teaches you how to eat. The whole plan is based on a point system. Those points vary depending on how much fat, calories, and fiber each food has. You really need to join at least for a little while to get the info that gives you the points system. I dont think I would still stick with it though, if i didnt go to the meetings. I have lost a total of almost 45 pounds and still losing. I know what you mean though about paying...it can get expensive but I think its worth it personally. Good Luck!!!

I volunteer for weight watchers and I get all of the meetings for free. You might want to find out if this is an option for you. I have been a volunteer there for a couple of years.
The program is most effective if you attend meetings, get weighed every week, and keep the journal. I have not seen a lot of success with people that try to do it without sticking to all of these components.
Good luck......

i*ve been on weight watchers now for almost 2 weeks. hehe. i thought it was expensive at first ($89.50 for 10 weeks) but i really think it*s worth it. i*m learning so much from the other people at the meetings, and we all have the same goal: weight loss. it makes me think twice before i eat because of boredom, because using up points on stupid things isn*t worth it. i highly recommend it.

It depends on the person, their size and weight and how much you need to lose. I lost over 40 pounds in about five months. Some people who only need to lose five or ten pounds can have it take longer than they anticipated.
To me it seems to me that the bigger the person, the faster it comes off. Of course there will be more to lose too.
