Hello, I was injured in the thoracic area by a chiropractor back in June. After seeing an ortho and a spinal surgeon and having had 2 MRI`s, I was diagnosed with DDD. I was then referred to a pain specialist. I have had 3 epidural shots. The 1st helped maybe 10%, and the 2nd one helped a lot more......45% or so and I was hopeful the 3rd one would be the knockout punch.

When I got home after the 3rd shot, I noticed the Dr. gave me the shot about 2 1/2 inches below where my problem area was. I always receive sedation, otherwise I might have noticed before the shot.

I called the office and I was told that 3 was the limit so I would not get another. Also, I was told the medicine runs up the spine and thus I would still receive benefit from it. Is this true or is he just placating me?

Also does anyone know of a good OTC anti-nausea medicine. I was prescribed ultracet and it`s not too great for my tummy...

Thanks :-)

I believe the medication does run up the spine, so you might receive some benefit but certainly not the amount you would have, had it been placed properly. All you can do, at this point, is wait and see and this is awful. I do hope it will help you some. Af or the medication for nausea, I rarely have the problem, but pepto does help me.

OOps, meant to ssay runs DOWN the spine, duh! Thought that some small benefit might show up in the surrounding area though.
