Is there a good way to lose the extra fat around the stomach, sides, and thighs.
I work out for 30 min. a day and always try to eat only what I should, but I just can't seem to lose that fat. What should I do?

You may want to try to add on another 15 minutes to your workouts, and also start keeping track of your calories to see exactly how many you eat. Then, cut down your cals, not going under 1200.

For me, I NEED to structure of journaling my food intake and calorie counting. If I don't do that, I may *think* I'm not eating a lot, but I really am, at least too much for any weight loss.

Good luck!

What type of workout are you doing ? Make sure you do alot of cardio and weight training. I find the treadmill and the cross trainer machines at the health club that I go to help alot, and also the stair master is good for the butt and thighs. I do about 40 minutes of cardio and the cross trainer or treadmill(including cool down) and about 10 minutes on the stairmaster every other day and I take a Kwando class 2 times a week also. With the change in diet and exercise my stomach has slimmed down alot.
I hope this helps.
 I almost forgot don't forget to drink lots and lots of water.

snwflkcty,

I would suggest using the resistance bands that are used with Yoga and Pilates. That would be good for the thighs and do crunches to tighten the abs. Do you work out at a gym? they have a machine where you sit and twist side to side? you acually lift yourself and twist. You can always go in for a "tour" and they can show you the machine and you can try to reproduce it for home use.

I've worked on this along time and have just been lucky enough to lose some flabby fat on stomach. I am a big girl too, 5'11" 235lbs. It takes alot for me to workout, but I drink 4-6 bottles of water a day. It keeps me hydrated and helps me finish my workout. I am on my own kind of meal plan that i learned from the hospital. (Amer. Dietetic Assoc. exchanges) I don't think its a diet. I don't restrict myself on anything, except I gave up coffee and soda.
Also you can get a pilates book at the library to look at.

good luck to you, Darci
