Hey all --

I have a bad case of overecstatic nerves...
It seems that no matter if INSIDE im calm and collective, my body just gets all up on the edge for no reason and i get panic attacks all over the place...

My doctor tried conventional medicine but felt it wasnt helping at all..
So he said maybe i should try an herbal remedy if i wanted to?
But he wasnt sure what.. he said to get some advice from people who know what REALLY works..

So my question is ... what works? :)

For the specific condition you mention, I would say Valerian would be good. My anxiety has more to do with worry and mind chatter, so I use Scullcap.

I am interested to know more about this. How did you decide to try this? I have been to a chiropractor for years. I am also one with anxiety, but never really understood what Craniosacral therapy is. Could you describe it alittle, what kind of manipulations are done...similar to chiropractic???

dagmar - what is the benefit of a chiropractor? I've heard a few people talk about going to them.

Hi, Skittles. I go to the chiropractor for headaches..and I also have arthritis in my neck. It helps keep me in a good place. I can turn my neck so I can have more mobility. Some people go for back problems. I also get my back adjusted, and it just feels less tight. I hope this helps explain it to you.
If you don't have a problem, I wouldn't start going. It is something you must tune up atleast every couple weeks. It can get expensive to include in one's budget, unless your insurance covers it. I do feel more energized once I am adjusted. And if you have a bad headache, it is almost immediately gone, after the adjustment.

I believe and my homeopathic doctor believes my panic attacks are from bacteria in my stomach. I took magic mushrooms as a teen and this I believe screwed up my stomach.Anxiety can also be caused by candida.I am currently being treated for both and am slowly getting better.I definitly recomend a good homeopath and accupuncturist.

What is candida? I have stomach problems that cause stress (or vs versa) im thinkin of seeing a homeopath but the initial visit is like 300 bucks is it worth it?

I'll tell you me experience. I had to start taking a diuretic called maxide a couple of years ago. At first nothing o0ut of the ordinary occured. After I took it for several weeks, I noticed that I would jump at unusual noises. A car horn, a slammed door, and other noises similar. I researched on the WEB what could cause this reaction and found that diuretics can deplete magnesium and other minerals. Maxide is patassium conserving, but nothing is said about its reaction to magnesium. I also read that magnesium deficiency can cause a person to be edgy or jumpy. I have been taking magnesium Citrate for a long time now and I don't jump at most noises. I take a pill that has 200 milligrams in it 3 times a day.

mdla - Homeopathy is a hit miss kind of deal. Sometimes you get lucky
and find benefits and others times, like the one we went too about ten years
ago was $150.00 joke on us.

Here are a few products you could try - one or the other - GABA and Calm Forte. They are both available at HFS. You might read the labels and see which one is most applicable to what you are experiencing. I believe GABA is more for mental conditions, depression, anxiety, etc., but I would also query someone who works in the vitamin dept.

I know you probably mean well, but I'm in the USA, and doctor of all kinds are
coming out of the wood work with all kinds of alternative treatments, To get rich fast.

Most go to one school or another, and when they start practicing they think they know everything about what they learned

The homeopathic doctor my wife went too was a Classical Homeopath and he did spend 2 hours with her, He came up with a remedy that we had already
tried. It didn't work the first time and it sure didn't after he told her to take it.

So now I believe in trial and error. Study, and there's some great web sites
on line of Classical Homeopathy, that will pin point a remedy for free. Also there in your back yard somewhere.

 :bouncing:

My husband has had really good luck with a product called Swedish Tranquility. Really, you can buy a herb called Ashwaganda and that's mostly what's in it. It makes him very relaxed. I also agree with the other poster who suggested Valerian Root. That's what works for me.
