I have a .5 cm kidney stone. This was found by accident several months ago when I had a CT scan. I started having some symptoms a few months ago(mainly dull flank pain).
Now, over the last few weeks, I have been having a lot of pain in my bladder area. It is a dull pain that is right in the center of my lower abdomen. Some days this pain is constant and other days I don't feel it at all. Could this pain be caused by the stone? I would think I would have felt a lot of pain if it had moved from my kidney to my bladder.
I would appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Yes! The pain can definitely be from your kidney stone, and yes, it's possible that the stone passed from your kidney to your bladder painlessly. The thing with stones is that the places that they cause the most pain for patients (USUALLY...not always) are the places where the urinary tract goes from a wider diameter to a narrower one. This includes the following:

1. The area where the renal pelvis joins with the ureters
2. The ureteropelvic junction (where the ureters cross in to the bony pelvis).
3. The entrance to the bladder
4. The exit of the bladder to the urethra.

It's very possible that the stone is in one of these areas.
