I'm taking an adulthood and aging class and my professor is requiring that we pick a topic for a project. Well I decided to pick Alzheimer's disease. One area I would like to cover is cost. I was wondering if anyone woul dlike to give me a general estimate of how much they spend week/month/year on care or etc. It would really help me out. Thanks

We had both My wife's father and mother suffer from Alzheimer's Disease, her father first, mother second. Her dad was a WW2 vet and retired Navy so expenses were not over $12,000 per year at there peak. Her mom was really more expensive during the gray period of the disease when we were trying to help her keep a "normal" lifestyle. The assisted living was about $40-50,000 per year for that period. After she could no longer function her expenses dropped to about 30-35,000. I'd like to mention that due to careful planning on their part we never spent any of our money.
