gmomof6 01-04-2004, 07:48 PM I am looking for a supplemental insurance to "gap" my medicare policy. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good/fast paying, affordable insurance company? Thanks. rubindj 01-11-2004, 04:40 AM I would call 1-800-MEDICARE, and get a list of the plans offered in your state. Medigap is a specific type of insurance policy and is heavily regulated by both Medicare & the state. I know the AARP policy is popular, but it is not the only one available. As long as you get a Medigap policy recongized by Medicare, you won't have to file any claims or worry about payment's as long as you use Medicare participating providers. Laura B 01-16-2004, 04:41 PM I got the AARP supplement insurance. I never have to pay anything. They cover everything Medicare does not pay. I costs me $212.50 per month though. rubindj 01-16-2004, 10:49 PM You can also try www.medicare.gov, which has plans and premiums for many of them on the web. FYI, Medigap policies are given a letter code -- such as C, J, F, etc. Every C policy will cover the same items, every J item will cover the same, etc. This is true in every state except Wisconsin. mdla 01-25-2004, 02:49 AM Are there any "gap" types of inurance for people not old enough to get medicare with other insurance like Cigna, Blue Cross or Aetna? They don't cover a lot of my pain managment stuff. |
