i just got my tonsils out december 29 and im still in a lot of pain. 2 days after i was fine as long as i took my medicine and i started goin out with my friends. then a few days later my throat started to really hurt again. the other nite i spit up some blood. and i cant eat or drink it hurt way too much. i dont kno if this is normal for it to still be this bad. the pain is worse then when i first got it. i dont kno what to do becuase i dont want to end up back in the hospital from not eating or drinking.

This is not a surgery you should take lightly. You were out and about much, much to early. You should have given your body time to heel. I would call my doctor to make sure everything is okay.

That is how tnsil surgery is-the first day or two stinks, then you get a little better. But then around day 6-9 your throat starts to really hurt again. Mine hurt worse on the sixth day then any other day-it brought me to tears it hurt so bad and I brought blood up also (I had surgery on 12/30). I think it has something to do with the scabs forming in the back of your throat and the fact that you probably haven't eaten or drank anything substantial so you are a little dehydrated. The dehydration makes the throat worse-thats why in the am when you wake up you feel the most pain-just keep sipping the water, no matter how much it hurts-it will help the pain.

Sounds like the way my recovery went I was in so much pain I couldn't get out of bed half the time however I don't think I would have tried hanging out that soon your body need recovery time. When i couldn't eat or drink anything I sucked on Ice chips (crushed Ice in the blender) you have to take a bunch of them but it helps keep you hydrated.
