If you are having memory loss problems and you are taking any of the statin drugs (lipitor) this could be causing your problem. Most dr's don't know about this side effect of these drugs. john

John,
Could you please give the source of your statement. I know the statins have been accused of memory loss, I have been unable to find any factual research.
Thanks, Mace

I had 2 thing in my post that would help me get you the info. but you can't give out e-mail addresses on here.
Here's one link http://www.healthcentral.com/peoplespharmacy/PharmFullText.cfm?id=36572

this one is another persons web site who is trying to get the word out about this problem. http://spacedoc.net/lipitor.htm
I have more info but it's hard to post it here.
thanks john
John,
Thanks for the information. Sounds like some individuals will be affected by statins, hope the research will progress enough to identify those who might be affected.
Thanks Again, God Bless, Mace
Back Again,
The Atlanta Journal, March 15, page A-6, under Nations In Brief, has a short article on Cholesterol, Alzheimer's Link Seen. Dr. Kristine Yaffe says, "Our results support thr hypothesis that statins may prevent Alzheimer's disease". This hypothesis apparently is the result of a cholesterol study and not a study directly related to Alzheimer's. The study is in the March issue of Archives Of Neurology according to the article.
Guess school is still out.
God Bless, Mace

Mace
that is posted every few months. that study is one a small group of only women! If that Dr. wanted better proof that statins are causing memory problems she should contact the statin study. In a few months the statin study will be publishing some of the case studies they have on this topic. My case will be one of the ones they are writing up.
The problem with all this stuff you see in the paper is most of it isn't a study. I think some of it is posted by the drug co's. so they can sell more and make more money.
