Naxis or anyone else that might know...
I am trying out this CKD type to lose some body fat. From what I get out of reading you eat under 30g's of carbs for 5 days and then load up on about 700g's for day 6 and half that on day 7 to replenish yourself for another 5 day go around of cardio/lifting with little carbs. One of my main questions is.. to be effective does the food have to be fatty food or can it just be high protein low carb? What I am getting at is can i mainly eat chicken, tuna stuff like that or is the fat like whats in sausage and beef what im after?

You must have fat on a keto diet, but if you can help it, keep it restricted to unsaturated fats. You can get away with a burger or sausage, but you will get better results and better general health if you keep it to mostly flax oil, olives, fatty fish, natural nut butters etc. The 20-30g carbs/day is a guideline. It's usually low enough to reach ketosis by the second or third day, but you might try ketostix just to be sure (note: they are not 100% accurate, but they can be helpful). If you keep carbs on keto days limited to a couple servings of fibrous veggies, you should have nothing to worry about. Also, make sure you have a calorie deficit. Even a keto diet will not work if you are eating more than you burn.
