My period has been very irregular for the past 5 or so months.

I skipped a period back in September. I thought I was pregnant, but both the pregnancy test I took came back negative. Finally October 17th I started my period which lasted the normal 5-6 days. Then on November 8th I started spotting and continued to spot until the 15th when I got a heavier flow. That lasted for 10 or so days. Then on December 17th I started a very light period which lasted 3 days. I got a 2 day break. And I have been bleeding since the 22nd of December. It was very light at first and has gradually gotten heavier.

So my question is, does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Does it sound like a possible miscarriage or something serious? And if I go to the doctors can/would they give me something to help stop the bleeding?
