My daughter needs a pace maker now since she has had an ablation. She suffers from a blood clotting disorder also which complicates things. Does anyone else have a similar case or knowledge reguarding a child and a pace maker?

Yes. At my husband's old job a co-worker's daughter had one. She was much younger than nine when she got her pace maker. She had it for so long that the pace maker quit and had to be replaced. She had serious heart problems and the pace maker saved her life.

Thank you. I have had some doubts about her getting one put in, but like the other little girl, it will save her life too. She has a blood clotting disorder Leiden Factor V. They have put things off for so long because of this, but her condition is getting worse. Her heart muscle is in good shape, but her conduction system is shot to hell because of an ablation she had 3 years ago.
I appreciate this very much. This really helps me out knowing that other children are doing well with theirs.
God Bless You

:angel: Thank you Abby,
It is a hard struggle at times to watch her suffer with her condition. She is a bright and beautiful little girl. Life has surely changed for her and our family. Waiting is the hardest part. We pray that the doctors hurry and make up their minds before something happens to the muscle itself, or worse yet, her other organs for lack of oxygen.
Life couldn't have been more normal before all this happened. But, now all the kids worry and have anxieties that this will happen to them too. And they worry that their little sister won't be around someday. It's sad and scary, but we are strong. Sronger then we would like to be at times. It is hard on the others to be able to do things she no longer can do. Like an amusement park, she is very limited on what she can ride or how long she can stand to be there. She fights with all her might to keep up with everyone and denies constantly that she is tired and weak. Mommy knows better, and I let her believe that she fools me too. We just want her to be happy and healthy again.
She sleeps most of the time now. And doesn't have much energy at all. The episodes are becoming more severe and it takes longer to recover from. I try to keep my faith in the doctor, but at times it's tough to do seeing her the way I do on a daily basis. They don't see the deterioration in her lifestyle like we do. To them she is just another heart case, another number.
I appreciate the prayers we can get. There is never too many of those. Without God on our side, life would be impossable. Again "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart and I pray that your little one will always be happy and healthy.
Gratefully Yours,

You should tell your doctor how your daughter is doing so he knows that her energy level is decreasing. Are you going to a children's hospital or a teaching hospital? If you don't think they are doing their best for her, I would look into a good children's hospital or famous teaching hospital. Your daughter deserves nothing but the best.

Hello Dear Lady,
Things have been crazy around here lately. I was diagnosed with colon cancer last friday and of course lost my mind for a few days. Sarah is fair.
I took her to her appointment last week and her cardio came up with another excuse to put off putting in the pace maker again. She has a nodule on her thyroid that they discoverd and had another appointment this past teusday with the Endocrinologist. She wasn't too pleased that the cardio is putting things off, she said that her thyroid functions are fine and that has nothing to do with her heart condition. So, now I have to recontact the cardio, advise her that it is not her thyroid and that is time to put it in. The Endo dr is testing her for the 2 types of cancer that comes with this, I just keep praying it isn't that. I have to take care of her and with me being sick with cancer, it will almost be impossable to get her and I treated at the same time.
Thank you so much for your support and caring heart. I hope and pray that all is going well for you. Please take care of yourself and I am sending big hugs your way...
I will write again very soon... God Bless you and yours..

Oh no.....I am so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I don't even know what to say. I feel terrible. Just know this soon will pass and everything will be OK. I know it must be so hard right now and you must think that is easy for me to say but you must stay positive. It really will make a difference. I am praying for you. {{{{hugs}}}}
As far as the cardioligist maybe you could see another one in your area for a second opinion. This one doesn't sound so good. I hope everything works out for you. Take care and keep me posted.
