:P
I am on my second month of Seasonale..and I am having a bit of brown discharge going on. No red blood or anything..just the "yucky stuff". It mostly just happens when I use the bathroom (#2!)..and during the day I sometimes wear a pantyliner. This is probably the 6th day I've had it.
Is this normal? Will it go away anytime soon??
Seasonale is a monophasic pill, right?? Last time I was on a monophasic pill this happened as well...for about 2 weeks. Blugh!!
Gah, I really hope this goes away soon.
Replies, pleeeeeeeeeeeease!! :)

Oh and I almost forgot to add. During the week I was "supposed" to have a period...I didn't bleed a freakin BIT! No spotting, no nothing. But right after that week was up, the brown discharge started..along with breast tenderness (which I still have as well)...
Grrrrrrr!

I don't know much about Seasonale since it is new on the market and I haven't tried it. I have taken Yasmin on a continuous basis until I start spotting like you describe and then I let myself have a period by stopping taking the pill for a week and once I resume taking it it controls the spotting for a couple months again. I do know in my experience it took at least 4 months for it to be more consistent in stopping the spotting. I just wanted to respond because it's exactly the same for me that I spot going #2 like that. I get irritated because just when I think I am not spotting then I go to the bathroom and there is the blood or brownish like you describe. Another symptom I have though is yasmin has been giving me diarhea and then I am going to the bathroom all of the time so more spotting. I did find a way to stop that though. Cheese makes me constipated so if I have a hunk of cheese before bed at night my problem is totally gone.

Ahhhh thanks for responding! I am going on my 9th day of this brown discharge crap now. Now sometimes, it ends up being blood. Only happens when I use the bathroom though..*AND* sometimes it's a lot and sometimes its a little.
Will this EVER stop?? I mean..what should I expect here?? Time-wise??

it will stop, but not for a while. you are fabricating your cycle and your body is fighting back a bit. you see it when you go #2 as you strain a bit and it pushes the stuff out of the uterus. if you are concerned, talk to your doc.

I just hate it because it's impossible for me to do anything sexual with my boyfriend. It seems to be tapering off and trying to stop. I hope I didn't just jinx myself. :[
So..basically -- my body is still trying to have a period?? I know someone said that if I stop the pills for 7 days and then start taking them again, the bleeding will stop -- but, I called my doctor yesterday and he told me to still keep taking the pills. Ugh. I just think it's crazy that for the whole first month I had no problems..and then as soon as month #2 rolls around, here comes the breakthrough bleeding.
Can't win, eh!? :P
