Since no one anwered to my post below, I thought I would ask again.
I am on day 17 of my period. It's getting to be where I go through a tampon every 2 hours, which is not normal for me even on my heaviest days.
Is this a reason to be concerned? If I go to the doctors can they or would they give me anything to help stop the bleeding?

Calling your doctor is your safest bet. They might give you Progestrone(Provera) to see if that will stop the bleeding. But it might not work and your doctor will more than likely want to run some tests to see if he/she can figure out what is going on. So he/she may not give you anythign right away.

I can't understand why you haven't called your doctor. It definitely is not normal.
It could be anything; from fibroids to hormone imbalances to menopause. Best to go right to your doctor for the right answers.

AngelOnHiatus,
You should go to the doctor and get it checked out. What do you mean you are on day 17 of your period - Did you have it for 17 days??? That is not normal.

You definitely need to go to the doctor. It could be many things, especially if you are sexually active. Sometimes miscarrages appear like prolonged periods. I hope it's nothing serious, good luck!

Definitely understand. We're all trying to help. Just be well and stop by again.
