What motivates you to work harder?
For me its someone telling me I can't do it, nothing will make me work harder to prove someone wrong about doubting.
also females of course

I post pictures up of girls with hard toned bodies, up on my little cork-board... That helps remind me about my goal, and that I want to look like them! :D

What motivates me? ME! I'm tired of hearing myself say "I can't" and I'm tired of crying because I can't fit into my clothes, or they don't look right. No one is going to do the work for me. I just wish I could see results sooner, I'd be even more motivated.

now a response from a guy... :)
I think disproving someone is a big one. I got that from my mom, my sister, and her bf, pissed me off. My mom later apologized though. The fact that they say "there's no way you can" just makes me so pumped! I have gotten past the point of "i have to look like _______". I do it for me, and to disprove and achieving goals is a biggie as well.
No offense to the ladies :bouncing:

For me, it's the sense of accomplishment and just feeling healthier. Also, I work-out early mornings...so I say to myself, "did I come to the gym this early to just maintain or to overload and exceed!"

personally, i dont need motivation. i've been lifting for 11 years now. its a part of my life and i cant imagine not doing it.
its just keep plugging away and keep moving forward. just trying to improve year after year. i'm my only competition.

What motivates me? Walking down the beach on a hot summer day and knowing all the women are staring at me, its almost as if i can feel all their eyes on me, lol...
I would have to say number one is the girls, but its also good to impress your friends and show off to strangers. =)

At my age (48) knowing that weight lifting keeps me looking and feeling much younger is a great motivator! Also, as I make my living as a CPT and sports nutritionist, keeping fit is the means to an eating regularly end!
And I'm one of the "females".

trnurbdy48 brings up a good point, exercise really makes you look younger. im only 20 but see a lot of older people at the gym who look a lot younger than their age. in general, exercise (weight training, cardio, etc) makes you look and feel better...thats all the motivation you really need.
