I have an elliptical machine, and I get bored after 20 minutes. How long do I have to do cardio workouts in order for it to be effective? I also do a toning weight lifting routine afterwards.

Sponsor SparkleBuggy 01-06-2004, 10:37 PM If you find yourself getting bored after 20 minutes of cardio, then I suggest doing three (3) 15 minute workouts. You can also try using some up-beat music, which will help by time. Sometimes, it's better to do three 15 minute workouts, b/c you put more effort (burn more calories), than if you were on it for 45 minutes. 20 Minutes isn't vary long for a cardio routine. You should do at least 30 minutes, but 45 to really burn fat. Weight training will help you burn the fat as well. Lean muscle burns more fat, so be sure your not too tired while lifting weights! Good Luck! Sheakin 01-06-2004, 11:03 PM Oh, I definately have to have music, it helps keep me moving at a steady pace. I also like to do the elliptical b4 my weight training, I consider that my warm up. My workout is about an hour long, I would just like to know that my elliptical is effective at 20 mins. When the weather get nicer, I'll walk...but till then, brrrr, no way. thanks for the reply :bouncing: :bouncing: :bouncing: |
