Sponsor Naxis 01-07-2004, 12:13 PM Fast heart rate? What does that mean? High blood pressure? High metabolism? Please explain.
Leanea 01-08-2004, 07:00 AM Maybe paxy means when people are doing aerobics some have a faster heart rate or it goes up faster than others'? If that's what paxy means I don't know the answer. But, I do know that having just quit smoking and starting to regularly excercise I feel like my heart rate is faster, like when I'm doing cardio, than other people. But it also feels like a shortness of breath or heat exhaustion at the same time. Not sure what it is. I guess I'm off topic, but maybe not??? Does anyone know what I mean, or what paxy means?
paxy 01-08-2004, 08:48 AM fast resting heart rate. my heart rate is abt 90 per min.
Leanea 01-08-2004, 09:50 AM My resting heart rate is 60 per minute. I don't know if mine is high or low, can anyone tell me?
Naxis 01-08-2004, 10:27 AM 60 is about average. 90 kind of concerns me. What's your age/height/weight? I'd check with a doc (sports med) before planning a career around something that puts stress on your heart. Do you do a lot of cardio/aerobics now? What's your max heart rate (if you have checked)?
Rick7799 01-08-2004, 03:20 PM I have read the average heart rate is 70, but that is just an average. A marathon runner can have a resting heart rate in the 30's and be just fine. On the other hand some people are around ninety and that can be o:k to as long as everything checks out good.
