I posted recently and someone wrote back saying I probably have oral thrush from the symptoms I described... MY question is that does this mean HIV? I am 20 years old and have been very healthy all my life. What is going on?

Hi Some Guy
No don't panic! Thrush is an opportunistic infection and can occur after a period of illness which depresses the immune system or treatment with an antibiotics which kills of certain bugs and allows others to flourish while the body's resistance is low.
You could be just going through a time of low resistance for some reason.
The thought of HIV comes up because it is common to have thrush if one has HIV and the spread of thrush has increased dramatically with the spread of AIDS
You probably should go to your dr for a routine check to get some antifungal medication for it and to exclude any underlying condition which could be weakening your immune system.
Best wishes.
