Hello all...I was diagnosed with kidney stones last year and the doc told me that they should pass...I was scheduled to go bacto the doctor but I never did...as of now i have major back pains...could it be pissible that they are still in there....they have not passed at all[/COLOR][COLOR=Navy]

Yes...it is very possible. I was mentioning this before in another thread, but depending on the shape of the kidney stones and their size, they might not be able to pass. Now, it's very unlikely that, if a year has passed, that you've had the same kidney stone present (unless it was small at the time and now they've gotten bigger and bigger). As you can probably guess, stones that are too big won't pass, and there are a certain type of stones called "staghorn" stones which are shaped in such a way that they won't pass either.

Thats what my urologist said - That it looked like I have had this kidney stone for years. So yeah I'd say yeah that they can sit there and grow bigger. I didnt know I even had mine until recently. Its 10mm in size and has just started bothering me now. Its in the lower left part of my left kidney. LOL maybe its trying to make its escape out of the kidney. I hope not as I am envisioning the pain already.
