I have naturally blonde hair that seems to be getting darker as I get older (Im 18) Ive died it quite a but not for the last six months.
Does anyone know what the best hair dye is for going a light blonde?
Are there any at home ones or will I have to go to the salon?

I am too a natural blonde & for some reason, it's gotten darker as I've gotten older. I've, actually noticed it in EVERY natural blonde that I've come across - my fiance was born with platinum, white, blonde hair and now at 32, it's dark brown. His son was born with the same platinum hair and now, at 8, it's like a sandy blonde & it seems as if it gets darker every time I see him!. Very rarely will you come across a TOTAL natural blonde without the help of chemicals.
I use Garnier Nutrisse in "Natural Blonde" &/or Loreal's Open in "Natural Blonde". I've always done my hair myself, roots only, but I think the next time I do my hair I'm going to go to the salon and only highlight my roots. It's going to be costy, but I'm curious to see how it would look!
GOOD LUCK!

I am 32 and have always been blonde...but as I get older, it gets darker and darker! I've tried to go brown, but I'm always happiest when blonde...I think the absolute best do-it-yourself hair color is Loreal Feria with highlight kit...it always looks natural because of the added highlights. Give it a try...it's a little more expensive than most brands but then again cheaper than going to a salon! Good luck!

{removed} and ill give everyone a tip.... when u buy... haircolor at a store u dont really know what ya gettin into... and often u haveta go to a salon to have it fixed.. so i dont see how your saving money... however if ur lucky.. and can do it at home... always look for haircolor that says "N" means natural... 8 n would be a light natural blonde stay away from products that have " G" or " A".. G= GOLD A=ASH..... ive seen horror storys... trust me.. and also when u pick up any instore hair dye.. realize.. u can olny go up 2 levels or shades.. u cannot go from brown to blonde in one step with at home hair color...its impossible.. best of luck

Hey there I am actually brunette and dye my hair blonde. I have tried many brands and products as well as bleaches. I did find that Loreal Excellence Blonde Supremes (I use the extra light ash blonde) takes my hair out quickly without the harshness of the other brands. I have to do it twice though in order to get the blonde from brown but on the blonde parts it makes it brighter and look better (it also comes with protectant to put on the ends before coloring). I recently used a bad dye from another company and my hair had extreme breakage. I will only use Loreal now!!!!
Hope this helps you.
