Pain doc just prescribed this for hubby's pain, nerve pinched cut off, what ever they call it, is it any good? We had to shell out about 150 and then get w/c to pay us back.....help with your experiences..suggestions....

Agreed that it's different for everyone. A family member of mine was on it for a short while and found it made him lathargic, constantly tired, and unable to do many things such as drive. He would fall asleep during conversations and while out at dinner if that tells you how bad it was for him.

I've heard from many people who have been helped by Neurontin, but I would advise you to go slow and be watchful. I had a very bad experience with it. At the very beginning it made me extremely sluggish - I've never experienced anything like that - and also caused burning in my mouth. These problems disappeared in a few days, and I was okay for awhile until I moved up from 1200 mg/day to 1800 mg/day. At that level I experienced terrible anxiety attacks that lasted for hours, everything I ate tasted like pepper, and I couldn't sleep. Withdrawal was even worse (I think I tapered to quickly). I had terrible withdrawal effects that lasted several weeks. So my advice, being that everyone is definitely different, is to really be careful.
