Hi, all! I just bought an exercise ball and am very excited to start using it. Unfortunately, it came with a pump and that's IT! No exercise guide or anything.

I am 5'7 and 137 pounds (I think 30 of that is in my butt and thighs! ) I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a good video or web site that shows different exercises that might target that area. I have 2 videos that I do at home that have helped a lot. I had let myself go and was up to 155 2 months ago! Just really need to tone now.

Also, if anyone has used one of these balls and would share your thoughts on them, I would appreciate it!

For anyone interested, I found some WONDERFUL information on the exercise ball on iVillage. If you go to their site and look up "The Amazing Ball Workout", it describes in detail the benefits of using the ball and gives 10 exercises with detailed descriptions and pictures. Anyone looking for a total body workout should really look into this. I am even more excited to get started now! :)

Hi. I'm a CPT with an emphasis on core. I use a physio ball in many of my routines. Here are a couple of sites that you may find helpful:

The great thing about a physio ball is, it's fun! At the same time you're getting a great workout if you perform each exercise correctly. Just remember to always keep your abdominals tight and breath!

Well, I did my first workouts with the exercise ball over the weekend. WOW! I was sore in muscles I didn't even know I had. And it was fun! I got the exercises off of iVillage as I listed in my previous post. Just wanted to let anyone who may be interested know that it really is a total body workout. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something different and fun to mix up their workout routine. I got my ball at Academy for $20. Can't beat that!

Hi, all. I've been using the ball for about a week now, and I can honestly say I can feel the difference in my abs. They are so much stronger. Even when I do my regular exercise videos, I can lift higher on all the ab parts than I could before. My son and I have made a game out of using a stop watch and seeing who can balance themselves the longest on the ball without letting their feet touch the floor. I did it for a minute and 45 seconds yesterday (before he made me laugh and I fell!), and my arms and legs were shaking when I was done. I really understand what they mean by this ball working your "core", because you can feel it in your muscles deep in your body, if that makes sense.

Anyway, if anyone else has had success with this thing, I'd love to hear about it. Motivation is the key! :)
