what's the difference between ultracet (I think
that's how it's spelled?) and ultram??
i am currently on ultram, it helps somewhat with
my pain but it gives me horrible headaches.
is ultracet similiar to ultram?
and do you think that i would benefit more by
going on ultracet and that wouldn't give me
headaches??
I'm going to go to my doctor soon and ask these
questions but i wanted to ask here first.
thanks! Kim

Ultracet and Ultram have the same ingredient Tramadol but in different dosages. Plus Ultracet has Tylenol in it and Ultram is just straight Tramadol. Ultracet is 37.5mg of Tramadol with 325 mg of Tylenol and Ultram is 50mg of Tramadol. The Tylenol in Ultracet is said to potentiate the effectiveness of the Tamadol (or make it worke better in other words). I use it for chronic low back pain and for my excrutiating TMJ pain (for which I have had surgery and do not suggest to anyone else)! It works pretty good most of the time. Hope this helps.

Hi there Kim :)

The difference between ultram and ultracet is that ultracet has acetaminophen in it and ultram doesn't.

With ultram the usual dose is 50mg. per pill but in ultracet the mg. is less which makes it less potent.

Depending on what your doc has Rx you med. for if you are going to be on it for any length of time then the ultram is better so your liver isn't getting bowled over with acetaminophen. If you are only going to be on it for a short period of time then maybe the ultracet would be better and maybe since the mg. per pill is less that may help with getting your headaches from it. If you continue to get headaches from it maybe you and your doc should talk about another med.

Take care and i hope you feel better!
