Hello everyone,

Just wanted to give an update. I still feel pretty well and on occassion I have a little ear pain. My throat is doing well and I can tell it is healing. My only problem now is to get myself to have a bowel movement. I feel so bloated and it is a miserable feeling. I have been drinking Prune Juice and plenty of water. I now have gas, but I can tell that it's trying to work. I still do not want to take a laxative because I know I would feel awful, so I am going to continue the old fashioned way and hope that it works soon.

How old are you if I may be so bold as to ask?. A tonsillectomy is supposed to carry greater risk the older you are. Glad to hear you are feeling better and hope you enjoy a speedy recovery:)

I have no problem sharing my age. I am 40 years old and the reason why I am giving these updates from day to day is someone my age my have to have their Tonsils removed. Thanks for your concern.

Hi MissLady! I am glad to hear you are doing so good. It makes me more encouraged to do this. I just keep thinking positively. I am going to be 38 on the 26th and hope to do this on the 30th. I go to Dr. this Thursday. I hope to know definately then. Have you weighed yourself lately? How much have you lost? That's one of my many motivations to doing this. And no tonsil picking or bad breath etc. Everyone says it hurts worse around the 6th day. What was your worst day so far? Do you have any kids? My kids are not going to let me rest. God forbid they should ask their father for anything. They always come to me. That's the only part I want not to deal with. I don't want to play referee or decide what is for dinner. I just want to concentrate on getting better as soon as possible.

Take care. I look foward to your next message about day 7.

I know how you feel. I had the same problem after I had my tonsils out.
I tried warm prune juice and then had to go to the glycerin suppository to get any action. It was terrible but I definitely felt much better after it worked. I kept calling my doctor about it and that was the final solution.

Good luck!!

I know you are nervous, but I do believe it will be worth it. My advice to anyone is, stay on top of you pain medication and drink plenty of water. My ENT gave me Lorton Pain Pills, after awhile they made me bloated and I mean bloated, so ask your doc about that. I felt miserable and I had to take one of my water pills. I had so much water that I went to the bathroom 10 times in four hours and on the 4th trip it took me close to 5 minutes. Just be mindful about that because water weight alone can be up to 5 to 10 pounds.

Yes, you will lose weight. How much, I have no idea. I can tell that I have lost, but I am not sure how much. I am sure that I will be losing more. Hope this helps.
