Hello, I just received news from my GP last week that my ferritin is low (27/100) not terribly low though. And she thinks this could be the cause of at least part of my exhaustion and other symptoms (ie tingling in hands and feet, shortness of breath, headaches, confusion/memory loss/concentration problems, weakness and aches throughout body) but everything else seems to be fine so she sent me away to wait 6 weeks to give the iron a chance to build up. But even in the last week my energy and mental state have gone down even more. I'm afraid something worse is happening with me. Does anyone else feel this bad either with anemia or low iron? And what else can you do to cope for such a long waiting process (days and days - 6-8 weeks!).

Thoughts, similar experiences, anyone...?

I am in your situation too. I have to wait about 3 more weeks before I go back. I am taking this ferro-folic pill. I still feel terrible and seem to be getting worse. Do your joints make grinding soundswhen you move around? Mine do.

My PCP also did a work up and said I was borderline SLE.

I am on this iron pill to determine if the anemia is caused by iron deficiency or chronic illness. This is what your Dr. is probably doing. This sounds like standard operating procedure to me!

Hang in there!
