For the last year or so when I wake up I have pain in my lower back - it doesn't feel like conventional back problems but more internal, the kidneys I guess as it is in that area. The pain only occurs if I've been in bed at least 7 hours, and the longer I stay there the worse it gets. Usually within an hour of getting up the pain has gone. Could this be a kidney stone? I have no problem passing urine and no discharge. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have had the same thing for 3 months now, the pain on waking sometimes makes me cry. But a cuppa tea and an hour later Im fine too. Wonder what it is.

I meant to add I do have a 10mm kidney stone in the left lower pole. Nothing in the right. The kidney stone shouldnt give me any trouble Ive been told.
