I m pretty sure I am anemic, and I know that it affects my skin a LOT. I get these dark circles under my eyes, and I get very moody and tired. I dont know what to do about it though. I cant se a doctor because i dont have insurance yet. I was wondering if anyone had anykind of "secrets" to share with me! Also... can someone tell me the symptoms of anemia? thanks!

Peachee,
I'm sorry to hear u r so run down.
Anaemia can be caused by a lots of things eg iron, folate or B12 deficiency; endocrine problems such as hypothyroidism; etc. Iron deficiency is the main cause.
People with iron-deficiency anaemia usually have fatigue, faintness and breathlessness went they exert themselves; pale skin, conjunctiva and mucous membrane; hair and nail become more brittle. But it's unlikely to have all these symptoms.
U can increase ur iron intake by eating red meat, green leafy vegies, take vitamin C which helps iron absorption but don't drink milk with meals cos it will decreases iron absorption.

It would be hard thing to diagnose and treat anemia yourself (or to even guess if you may have it). There are several different kinds of anemia.
anemia of B12 deficiency
anemia of chronic disease
anemia of folate deficiency
drug-induced immune hemolytic anemia
hemolytic anemia
hemolytic anemia due to g6pd deficiency
idiopathic aplastic anemia
idiopathic autoimmune hemolytic anemia
immune hemolytic anemia
iron deficiency anemia
megaloblastic anemia
pernicious anemia
secondary aplastic anemia
sickle cell anemia
So you see, until you know the kind (if you have it at all) there are no "secret" treatments.
