View Full Version : Anyone had both Radial Keratotomy and Lasik?

Hello. I'm new to this board. I had radial keratotomy ten years ago to correct my vision (it was the latest trend then before Lasik came along). I had clear vision for only two years from the RK surgery and have been wearing glasses again ever since. My prescription is very minimal now compared to before the RK. However, every couple years the RX keeps getting higher and more powerful. Quite costly. I went for a couple Lasik consults and was told they could do it and my eyes were very well healed. Anyone had both of these done? If so, any problems or not?

I had RK 11 years ago in one eye and I am still 20/20 in it. Best thing I ever did. The big E on the eye chart was fuzzy before the surgery. I have a little glare at night but nothing to complain about.

Hi Rick,
That's great that you're still 20/20 in that eye. I was 20/20 for the first couple years after RK. On my last eye exam 2 yrs. ago, one eye was 20/70, the other 20/50. Glad it worked for you! Bye.
